Oven Repair — Book a Visit Today

We repair electric and gas ranges, wall ovens, and double stacks from all major brands as an independent shop, so call us and tell us what your oven is doing. Most no-heat calls come down to a short list: a burned-out bake element, an igniter that glows but never lights the gas, a tripped thermal fuse, a control board scorched by a storm-season surge, or a sensor reading temperatures that don't match reality. An oven usually quits quietly. No smoke, no bang, just a cold cavity and a casserole going nowhere. Our visit starts with questions, then we look at the element, the wiring, the door seal, and the sensor readings before we replace a thing.

The oven symptoms we hear most

  • "It heats, but everything comes out raw in the middle." Temperature sensor drift, a weak bake element, or calibration that's wandered off.
  • "The igniter glows orange and nothing happens." A weak gas oven igniter that no longer draws enough current to open the safety valve.
  • "Display lit up, buttons do nothing." Control board or touch panel failure, often after a lightning storm or a brownout.
  • "Broiler works, bake is dead." Open bake element, a broken element terminal, or a relay stuck on the control board.
  • "Smells hot and the door won't latch right." Failed door hinge, a crushed gasket, or a self-clean lock motor stuck mid-cycle.

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Check that the oven breaker hasn't tripped. Many electric ovens run on a double breaker, and half of it can drop out while the display keeps working.
  • 2With the oven cool, look the bake element over for blisters, cracks, or a bright break in the coil.
  • 3Make sure the oven isn't sitting in delay-start, Sabbath, or self-clean lock mode, any of which blocks normal heating.
  • 4Run a hand along the door gasket and feel for hard spots, gaps, or tears letting heat pour out the front.

Oven Repair — quick answers

My oven bakes unevenly. Is that fixable?

Usually, yes. Uneven baking points to a sensor reading wrong, an element weakened so it heats on one side, or a door that no longer seals. We measure the actual cavity temperature against what the panel claims, then chase the difference back to its source.

The oven light and clock work, so why won't it heat?

Clock and light run on one leg of power. Heating elements need both legs. A half-tripped double breaker, a blown thermal fuse, or an open element will leave the display cheerful while the cavity stays cold.

Can a power surge really kill an oven?

It happens often around here during spring and summer storms. Surges take out control boards and relays first. The oven may go dark, freeze on an error code, or heat without stopping. Board diagnosis tells us what survived.

Is a gas oven that smells faintly of gas an emergency?

Treat it as one. Shut the gas off at the valve, open windows, get everybody out of the house, and call your gas utility before you call anybody else. Once they clear the home, we can look at the igniter, the valve, and the connections.

How long does an oven repair take?

Many visits wrap up the same day, as long as the part is a common element, igniter, sensor, or fuse. Control boards and door assemblies sometimes have to be ordered. We tell you which situation you're in before we leave.

Should I repair or replace an older oven?

Depends on the failure. Elements, igniters, sensors, and fuses are straightforward on almost any age of unit. When a rare board fails on a very old model, we lay out the options plainly and let you decide.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call us or fill out the form and tell us what you hear, smell, or see. Buzzing, leaking, no heat. Plain talk is fine. We'll ask a few questions and set a visit window.

  2. Step 2

    We come look

A technician shows up in the window, pulls the unit out, and tests it. No guessing games. We explain what failed and why, in words that make sense on your back porch.

  3. Step 3

    We fix it

Common parts ride with us, so a lot of repairs finish on that first visit. If a part has to be ordered, we tell you plainly and set the return date before we pull out of your driveway.

Why homeowners call us

  • Storm-season surge damageLightning and blinking power hurt control boards. You get an oven that lights up but won't heat, or a washer that quits mid-cycle. We test boards and wiring before we replace anything, so you know what the surge actually took out.
  • Clay dust and lintRed clay dust and lint choke dryer vents and condenser coils. That's where long dry times and a hot laundry room come from, and it's why a fridge runs nonstop. We check airflow every visit, because a clogged vent kills a good machine slowly.
  • Straight talk, no runaroundWe tell you what's wrong and what it takes to fix. If a machine is worn past sense, we say that too, and you decide. No pressure and no jargon. We don't dress up an upsell as advice.
  • Independent and localWe're a Nashville crew, not a call center. As an independent shop we repair all major brands. Call us and you get a real person, somebody who knows the roads we drive.
  • All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Whirlpool, LG, Samsung, GE, Maytag, Bosch, KitchenAid and the rest.
  • Straight answersNot worth fixing? We say that out loud, and often it saves you the visit fee.
